Over the weekend I got a chance to attend the Mid-Tenn Summer Tailgate and Emergency Fair put on by the Short Mountain Repeater Club. I have been excited about this event since I first heard about it. I Always enjoy meeting up with like minded locals. Finding some good deals wasn’t bad either. I got a change to chat with a few people that I had only spoken to online. All in all a good time let me share some photos with you.
The fair definitely had a bigger selection of ham gear over preparedness items. I’m mildly interested in getting into HAM but would,t have even known what I was looking at. It was really nice to meet Joshua and Jada from Reliance Survival Supply. If you have not already make sure you stop by their Facebook page They were kind enough to donate a prize for the September contest so go like and thank them.
I didn’t have much money to spend on anything, and so many things were tempting. The only things I ended up buying were a few phenolic lined cans for food storage. I have been looking at these for a while now and I can never resist a local buy of something I want.
I got to sample some Shelf Reliance Thrive long term storage fruit as well. I was very tasty. I have tended to go with thrive over some of the other brands anyway. I like their Q system a lot for taking the hassle out of a buying system.
I found out about this through a combination of Facebook through connections I’ve made in the local preparedness community a useing Meetup to find local happening’s. Now is a good time to highly endorse Meetup as a learning, and socializing utility. I have attended and will attend some amazing events through Meetup. It’s free go sign up now!
