This week we will have our Christmas Special Episode. Couch Potato Mike and I want to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas. Happy Yule, Hanukkah or in this case Happy Friday. I hope you get to spend time with your loved ones.

I hope that you get some great Christmas gifts. Knives, ammo, wool socks and Ron Hood videos. Eat some great food. Don’t worry about whether or not you should eat it. Devour all the food and lapse into a coma laughing with your family.

I think I’m taking my cards against humanity cards over to scare them. Watch football, the parade and A christmas Story. I’m sure it will be on a marathon the entire day. Don’t want to shoot your eye out after all.

Second Amendment

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Today the show is all about the second amendment. With the exceptions due to the power outage that occurred while recording. We talk about why so many people are trying to ban weapons. How is all boils down to fear and ignorance. Mankind has always feared what he does not understand. If you listen to anti gun liberals long enough you will realize they are completely ignorant of firearms and the second amendment. They have some pretty crazy notions on firearms. Ghost guns anyone?

We talk about how the second amendment and exercising your right to keep and bear arms empowers you. It forces you to take responsibility for your own safety. It forces to to become more responsible while carrying a weapon. You have to both avoid trouble but also be the one there when it is needed.

The police can not protect you all the time. In the best of cases getting to you in time is hard. If there is a disaster, like a riot, then help may not come. During the L.A riots the Korean shop owners with AK47’s were the ones not looted. They used their second amendment right to protect their livelihoods.

Jeff will help you with hunting basics at an affordable price. Many people I have seen set the price to get into hunting so high it’s hard to jump in.

How to cook better

How to cook better is the main topic of the week. First though I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. If you are listening to this I am very grateful for you.

In this episode Mike and I give our knowledge on how to cook better. Though neither of us are professional chefs we are both accomplished home cooks. We share with you some of the techniques that allow us to make great food.

We talk about cooking on the right temperature. Do not get a skillet scorching hot for eggs. Some food taste much better when cooked at lower temperatures. The opposite is true with a good steak. Having the skillet blazing hot to ensure a proper sear is best.

We talk about how using acid ( Not the fun kind, sorry) can improve flavors. Using an acid, like vinegar or lemon juice when cooking does a lot to make flavors pop. I always splash any vegetables I’m cooking with some vinegar. You will begin to notice when a dish could have used acid in the future. Also watching Food Network competition shows will make more sense now.

Once again Mike shares his way of cooking a turkey. I will admit that Mike makes the best turkey. Sorry Momma. His turkeys are always so moist and flavorful. No need to drown you turkey in gravy.
