Fall Gardening
This week we tackle some things to plant for your fall gardening beds. Many stop gardening in the fall to wait till spring. This is a huge mistake. Many of my favorite crops grow best in the fall and into winter.
Kale, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower are all staples of my diet and all grow best in the fall. Many herbs do will in the fall and will winter over with mulch. Cilantro does well in the fall here in the South. In the summer and spring it will bolt quickly.
I have my lettuce boxes loaded up too. Chard and romaine taste much sweeter in the fall. Many of the fall crops tend to be the more expensive ones to buy. Kale goes for almost 4 bucks a bag. Organic salad greens cost a ton too. Fall gardening is both fun, not being in the heat, and saves you money.
