Don’t Buy Shit!

Today’s post should have been a review of the Green ceramic skillet I’m sure you’ve seen on TV. Instead its going to be an article on not buying shitty products. Which the Green skillet certainly is. I’ll tell you why it sucks but more importantly I’ll tell you how to avoid making the same mistake and wasting your precious federal reserve notes.

I don’t watch Tv but I see it sometimes like at the gym or something. I had seen the info-mercials on the green pan and was stupidly impressed by it. I should have known better. But my mind justified it by saying its made of ceramic and I could see how that would be good. I mean humans have been using ceramic cookware for a very long time.  I avoid Teflon cookware to keep Teflon from my body and usually only use cast iron.

I had the impression that the pan was soild ceramic. Not the reality. It is a very thin ceramic coating. Very thin and comes off very very easily. I believe I had the coating coming off the first or second time I used the pan. Every spot the coating is missing food sticks badly. The pan is pretty darn non stick I will admit. Not as good as the commercial leads you to believe though. You need to give food an encouraging nudge from time to time.

Now had I done what i normally do and do a quick Google search for reviews on it I would have kept my money. Not only are there some reviews of how bad this pan is there is a whole website dedicated to its suckiness. Although there are some mixed reviews it leans very heavily in the junk direction. Easily persuasive enough for me not to have bought it.

The point of this article is that if at all possible before buying something just do a quick Google search and see how the reviews are. If the majority of the people are dissatisfied chances are so will you. I would have been much better off buying a Griswold cast iron skillet from Ebay than this piece of crap.
