Update: Contest Closed
Day Seven of the National Preparedness Month of giveaways! Up for grabs today is a Mondo Patch Panel from OC Tactical. The Mondo panel is made from a single piece of Mil Spec Berry compliant Velcro Brand Loop on front and 1000D Cordura in Coyote Brown. It has edges finished with matching Multicam binding. There are 3 grommets along both long edges for hanging the panel on hooks, nails, or running 550 cord through. The Mondo Panel measures 24″ x 36″.
I felt kinda bad testing this for review and giveaway. The patch fever has only just begun to bite me and I only have two patches (once of which is MIA at the moment). It did however hold the one patch really well. When I got the Mondo panel in I thought it was fleece not Velcro loop. It was so soft. It does hold patches (patch) securely. The grommets are high quality and inserted perfectly with no chance of ripping out.
I was highly impressed with the quality of the Mondo panel. I found no loose stitching. The bindings were sewed perfectly. It is built so durable I would have no concerns lugging this around rolled up to carry patches around. It’s much better looking than a cardboard box.
I however feel that OC Tactical is severely underselling the potential of this piece of gear. Yes, it was designed to hold patches in an organized way to show them off. However I makes a perfect gear organizer. Most tactical gear now is made Velcro backed. Meaning you can stick it to the Mondo panel and organize it vertically. My Velcro backed battery holder stuck to it. Using Velcro organizer panels and Velcro ties you could use it as a Velcro version of a pegboard wall. It would be the most optimal way to store Velcro gear.
